Vangeli’s Bistro: More than Special Occasions
Let’s just kick off the list with my favorite restaurant near Lake Keowee. If you’re in the mood for a touch of elegance, Vangelis is the place to be. This high-end restaurant offers a perfect blend of upscale atmosphere and amazing cuisine. While reservations are a must, trust me, it’s worth the effort.
The menu is on the pricier end for Seneca, but it is completely worth it. Ryan enjoyed a T-bone and I had some of the best scallops and rosito. The menu is known for changing frequently. But gosh it was good when we went.
When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a hostess, and I immediately noticed how dark the restaurant was. But not in a bad way, it was a total vibe. We were seated immediately. While this restaurant is the “fanciest” restaurant Seneca has to offer, there is no need to be overdressed. I noticed several parties rocking out in their blue jeans.
Y’all I thought this would be a special occasion-only restaurant… but NOPE it needs enjoyed WAY more than just a special occasion.
Lighthouse: LakeSide with Dock Access
Lake Keowee has very limited lakeside dining, but this restaurant is definitely worth the visit! The views are stunning, and you can arrive by boat or car.
Perched on Lake Keowee, this gem offers not only delicious food but also breathtaking views that will leave you in awe. Whether you’re enjoying a leisurely brunch or a sunset dinner after a day on the lake, Lighthouse delivers on both ambiance and food. Just be prepared for a bit of a climb if you’re arriving by boat – but trust me, the panoramic views make it well worth the effort.
We have enjoyed Easter brunch (very crowded, book early) plus a few dinners, and it never disappoints. I highly recommend making a reservation and enjoy a meal.
The Blue Heron: A Must Visit in Pendleton, SC
For those seeking a cozy atmosphere and friendly service, The Blue Heron in Pendleton is the place to be. While the food may not reach the heights of culinary excellence, the inviting ambiance more than makes up for it.
Whether you opt for the fancier side or the more casual atmosphere, you’re in for a treat. This restaurant is split into two sides, one is more “bar atmosphere” whereas the other side is a bit on the fancier side, think white table cloths.
Blue Heron has become one of my favorite Friday Night unwind spots. Great food with an even better atmosphere… plus Pendleton is SO cute.
Rick Erwins: Steakhouse in Clemson SC
Y’all I love love to go out to eat, and whenever I ask for a recommendation on where to go, Rick Erwins comes up. The first chance Ryan and I had for a date night, we knew we wanted to try out this restaurant.
I must admit we were beyond disappointed with the service… BUT I truly think it was a fluke, everyone around us was being attended to, I think our waitress wasn’t aware that we had taken our seats. Once we got over the slow service, the dinner portion didn’t disappoint. We both had a great steak and lovely wine.
This restaurant is beautiful inside, and it feels like you are in an entirely different town when you walk in. The best part is it’s just a short drive from Lake Keowee.
Bonus tip either before or after you visit RIck Erwins (because you totally should), stop across the street and have a drink at ________. Steak lovers, rejoice! Rick Erwins in Clemson is your go-to destination for a mouthwatering steak experience. Just a short drive from Lake Keowee, this upscale steakhouse offers top-notch cuts cooked to perfection. Yes, it may lean towards the pricey side, but trust me, the quality of the steaks more than justifies the cost. Plus, its convenient location in Clemson means you’re just steps away from exploring the vibrant local scene, including a fun brewery across the street.
