4th of July Festive Snack Ideas for the Best Lake Weekend

Easy Red, White, and Blue Treats for the 4th of July

The 4th of July is the best time for bringing friends and family together to celebrate Independence Day in the hot summer sun. This celebration offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy each other’s company, eat some good food and drink some good drinks. Whether it’s tubing on the lake or jumping in the pool, the festive spirit is high. What more perfect way to incorporate red, white, and blue than with some colorful snacks and treats? These snacks provide a refreshing and fun way to beat the heat and make sure everyone has a memorable 4th of July!

4th of July Easy Red, White, and Blue Fruit Skewers That Everyone Will Love

One of the easiest ways to incorporate red, white, and blue colors is with fruit skewers! The best thing about them is that it is completely customizable, meaning you can use any fruit you want, and can be done in a few simple steps!

Step 1: Choose your fruit. I like to use simple fruit that everyone will like (strawberries, cherries, blackberries, and blueberries) keeping it super simple with the red and blue. Step 2: make the dip. This dip is a friend and family favorite of ours that my mom has made for years- one block of cream cheese, one container of marshmallow fluff, and oddly enough a splash of orange juice. Mix with a mixer, assemble your fruit skewers, and bam!

So easy and takes less than 20 minutes to do…and just wait until you try the fruit dip (I could eat a tub with a spoon).

Quick Snacks for Family and Friends During Summer: Independence Day Snack Mix

Another hit on the 4th of July is a red, white, and blue snack mix, also known as a 4th of July-themed trail mix! This snack is perfect for anyone who has a sweet tooth, and it is so good to munch on. The ingredients I use are Chex cereal squares, cheerios, pretzels, white meltable chocolate, M&Ms, and of course red, white, and blue sprinkles.

Simple combine all the ingredients into a mixing bowl, melt the chocolate, stir it into the mix, spread the mixture on a baking sheet, and refrigerate. It’s as simple as that! This sweet treat is best enjoyed indoors, as it will melt quickly in the sun.

No Hassle Snack Ideas for the July 4th Holiday

If you have a busy schedule and have limited time to prepare snacks for the 4th, there are plenty of easy options to still maintain the red, white, and blue theme! A great one that the kids love is popsicles, specifically the red, white, and blue ones. They are simple and always a crowd favorite.

For beverages, consider offering raspberry lemonade and blue raspberry Kool-Aid in clear beverage containers with a dispenser. If you want to get fancy, you can even add edible glitter.

Grocery stores typically set up Independence Day tables with goodies such as red, white, and blue cookies and cupcakes. Amazon also offers an assortment of festive candy. This one may sound bizarre, but check out Target for red, white, and blue tortilla chips made by the Favorite Day brand. I have yet to try them, but they would add a festive touch to any snack table.
